much ado, lesson 1 thought question 1

Beatrice compares Benedick's friendships to the  "fashion of his hat".   What this means is, as times change so does ones apparel, and the old apparel is cast aside with little regard for it, and Benedick treats his friends as such.  There are several other references like these in the play, and it seems that in the whole play can be found the theme of wether a character will cast aside their friends when things get rough, or wether they will prove true to those they care about.
