Who tamed whom?
For some part it can be said that Petruchio tamed Kate, but if you look closely you will se something slightly different. Petruchio tries and fails to tame Katherine, but in the process he falls in love with her. When Kate sees this she begins to tame, and when Petruchio sees that, he begins to tame as well.
Is Kates description of Marriage Biblical?
My answer to this is, there is not a full enough description of the mans part in marriage to give an answer.
character analysis of Kate Petruchio, Bianca and Lucentio
Kate, is indeed fitting of all descriptions from the locals at the beginning of the play, and seems to be driven to act as those descriptions say out of anger at those who proffer those descriptions and in part out of her father's favoritism for Bianca. However, when she encounters someone who appears to truly love her, she slowly transforms into a woman of good nature. Petruchio starts his role in the play as trying to obtain Kate's hand in marriage in main part for her large dowry, and in minor part to have a bit of fun in bemusing Kate and everyone else with his antics of wooing her. However he soon truly falls in love with his wife and begins to attempt to "tame" her out of true affection, instead of for his own entertainment. Bianca appears to be a character much like Hero from Much ado about nothing, saying little of any substance and serving as mere contrast to Kate. Lucentio again parallels Claudio from much ado, seeing Bianca, falling in love immediately and running into some difficulty in obtaining her and in marriage.
relationship compare and contrast Benedick/Beatrice to Claudio/Hero
Claudio and hero's relationship may be more classical, where the man view's the woman as something more than human. However, Benedick and Beatrices relationship is more scriptural, where the man and woman are two humans working together with love and respect for each other.
much ado lesson 2 thought question 5
Don pedro expects that once Beatrice and Benedick finally meet after each hearing that the other loves them, that each will truly love the other in return and profess their love to each other in person.
much ado, lesson 1 thought question 1
Beatrice compares Benedick's friendships to the "fashion of his hat". What this means is, as times change so does ones apparel, and the old apparel is cast aside with little regard for it, and Benedick treats his friends as such. There are several other references like these in the play, and it seems that in the whole play can be found the theme of wether a character will cast aside their friends when things get rough, or wether they will prove true to those they care about.
Macbeth lesson 4 thought question 5
One possible interpretation is that he simply does not care about life in general any longer. He is tired of living, exhausted from all he has done and the horror with which he now regards life. That feeling has now reached to his thoughts of others lives, even his own wife. He is basically saying, "well, she was gonna die sooner or later anyways."
macbeth lesson 3 thought questions 6 and 2
Q6. The fourth vision that macbeth sees is blood-covered Banquo sitting amongst the eight kings from the third vision. The witches' original prophecy was that Banquo would not be king, but his descendants (children) would be kings. Macbeth interpreted this to mean Fleance, and thus attempted to kill Fleance, but it could refer to any relatives to Banquo who will be born in future generations.
Anyway, when Macbeth sees blood-covered Banquo sitting amongst the kings, he is shocked. This apparition shows a bit of the future. Banquo's children WILL be kings, eventually, as shown in the third apparition.
Q2. When Macbeth says that in killing banquo they “have scorched the snake, not killed it” Macbeth echoes her previous comments. She told him earlier that he must “look like the innocent flower, But be the serpent under’t”. In that in killing banquo, though everything seems to be dealt with now, underneath there are still many threats to them.

Lesson 3 Review questions 4-5 and thought question 9
Lesson 3. Review questions 4&5 and thought question 9. Review Q.4. Claudio is overcome by malice and grief. He believes that Hero has played him for a fool and does not love him.Review Q.5. Claudio has set up hero as a godess-like creature of perfection and purity. Once this image of her that he has built in his mind is seemingly bashed to pieces, he.. well to put it mildly, he hits the ceiling, and because of the drastic change in perception of hero in claudio's mind, he fails to consider that there were two parties involved in the alleged scandal.Thought Q.9. Are Lady Macbeth and Beatrice similar? Well here are the facts. Beatrice tries to convince Benedick to kill Claudio out of grief for her beloved sister. Beatrices motives are selfless.Whereas on the other hand, Lady macbeth persuades Macbeth to murder Duncan to further her husbands and her own personal power. Lady Macbeths motives are selfish. Also, Beatrice means "kill Claudio" as honorably challenging Claudio to a duel and killing him in that duel that Claudio has agreed to. Lady Macbeth has Macbeth murder Duncan in his sleep. So taking into consideration the facts, of course! They are exactly the same!

week 12 paper question 1
Alright so the question i have been given is perhaps the easiest question one can be asked about Hamlet. I have been asked to write about wether or not the play promotes revenge.
Okay, before i end my paper with a simple no, lets look at the events of the play.
First Hamlet decides to take revenge on Claudius for killing his father, Hamlet dies.
Second Laerties takes revenge on Hamlet, Laerties dies.
Third and perhaps less obvious, Rosencrance and Gildenstern agree to kill Hamlet because of the way he has treated them so in a way they are trying to get revenge, they both die.
So after looking at the events of the play and taking in all evidence (and studying verbal irony) I shall conclude by giving a simple answer.
Does this play promote revenge? Absolutely!

week 12 (I think) Third movies the charm.
I watched the BBC television film adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet produced by Seb Grant and John Wyver,
directed by Gregory Doran and starring David Tenant as Hamlet.
The reason I chose this Movie to watch was because I had seen David Tenant portraying the best incarnation of Doctor who and I was curios to see how good of an actor he was in other movies.
Tenant does not disappoint in this movie, portraying perhaps the best Hamlet on screen thus far. While his mad scenes are entertaining, I believe his serious speeches outshine them.
His interactions with Horatio are probably the best portrayed out of all the rest of the movies.
The only character I dislike in the movie is Mariah Gale's Ophelia.
This portrayal is lacking both in personality and acting skill in general.

Hamlet lesson 3 review question 4
The way hamlet treats Ophelia in this act is very interesting to say the least.
First of all it is influenced by the fact that Hamlet knows (or at least has a very good guess) that Ophelia is acting as Polonius's tool to find the cause of his madness.
So Hamlet drops some hints of still loving Ophelia while mixing them with utterings of slander and nonsense. Hamlets interactions with (and perhaps even true feelings for) Ophelia are also influenced by Hamlets mother's actions. Hamlet is Exceedingly angry at his mother for being so fickle with his recently deceased father, and those events also taint his opinion of women in general.

Hamlet lesson 3 thought question 4
The characters of Brutus (from Julius Caesar) and Prince Hamlet (from Hamlet) are similar in many ways. For instance, Brutus killing Caesar leads to Brutus's own death while Hamlets plots of revenge lead to his demise as well. The two characters both see ghosts as well, (Brutus of Caesar and Hamlet of His father) and both are involved with those characters deaths. Hamlets father is involved because he convinces Hamlet to plot the revenge that leads to the prince's demise. The ghost of Caesar, because seeing the ghost drives Brutus partially mad, and Brutus finally kills himself in order to escape the accusations of Caesar.

branaugh vs gibson
ok here we have an easy one, Branaugh's Hamlet movie vs Gibsons hamlet movie.
Here i do believe Branaugh's Hamlet movie is the obvious winner.
First its much more true to the play, second it has better acting, better lighting, better sets... just better everything! Lastly, Branaugh's depiction of hamlet is more accurate, Gibsons hamlet is poorly depicted and is in the wrong emotional state in nearly every scene.

week 9 review question 8
At the beginning of hamlet, prince Hamlet is both distraught by his fathers death,( "How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable seem to me a the uses of this world!") and he feels betrayed by his mother because of her marriage so soon after his fathers death ("frailty thy name is woman").

Julius Caesar lesson 3 thought question 2
Upon murdering Caesar, Brutus and Cassius say that they have not murdered the emperor of Rome, destroyed the happiness of Calpurnia and thrown Rome into chaos needlessly, but rather, "they have benefited Caesar by cutting short his time of fearing death."
Now this is a pretty pitiful justification for their actions, especially since they do not do even that much seeing as in Caesars own words, "...Cowards die many times before their deaths ... it seems to me most strange that men should fear death."
But I suppose, it just goes to show that we sinful humans will believe just about anything to relieve ourselves of the pain of guilt.
